Nail Art: Inspired by TTR's Edelweiss Romper

I don't usually wear florals, but I liked this combination so much it inspired my manicure.

I started with a mint creme: Essie's Fashion Playground.
Opaque in two coats.
Formula was slightly runny compared to China Glaze;
its the same with all the essie's I've encountered.

Used China Glaze's Creative Fantasy, Lemon Fizz and Street Chic to draw the florals.

Taaa daaa !

The mint is not exactly close but I thought I did a good job with the florals :B

The dress which inspired it. :D

How I spent my Good Friday!

Public Holidays are the best, because I can do whatever I want to.
No work, no school. shiokkkk.

Went for retail therapy with my two bffs!
Or also known as shopping queens. heheh.

Honestly saying, I never had close girlfriends till poly.
Girlfriends whom I could share every single shit with, tolerate my moodswings,
and basically be honestly me.

For example, Bimb was the one who daringly told me I had moodswing and attitude issues.
A problem that I didn't realise, and people never told me directly like she did.
Because of her frankness, I tried to control it and I haven't received a complaint since ;p.
So, I'm thankful. (:

We are all very different in terms of attitude and likes and dislikes,
but we're able to bond together, regardless of singing, shopping, nail polish etc.

Actually, I didn't use to be into girly shit until during poly too.
Or at least until after I got together with ahpok.
I've definitely changed since then. heheh.

I like who I am now,
and the poly experience was definitely vital in shaping me.
Which is why I loved my time in poly the best.

ANYWAY,

Spam of selfies taken while waiting for Levon's crepe!

me and my two siao zha bors.

annoying levon annoying us while we were trying to snap photos!
tak glam faces captured. :x

bimb: I death stare you!!

death stare worked.
#buddingyeast selfie. HAHAH.

le pretty levon !

the girls who have got my back covered. :D

Met up with boss and ahpok for dinner later on too!
Belated celebration for boss's birthday cause he is a 大忙人 hahaha.

Dinner was at Seoul Garden Hotpot at Cineleisure, where they served traditional Korean dishes !

Bimb's favourite fried tanghoon.
Which she always cant finish. :B

My ever favourite dubu jjigae hotpot and kimgaru rice!
Basically kimchi base soup with mushrooms, tofu, clams.
Kimgaru - seaweed rice. which is da bomb, I love it.

Group selfie !

We then walked down to Orchard Central and randomly went for desserts.
Also somehow randomly me and bimb decided to surprise boss with a cake.
Got the guys to find a seat while we ordered.

Then the funniest thing happened.
We asked for a candle on the nutella pie, which the counter girl shouted the order across :OO
LOL me and bimb shushed the girl, then she had the omgshit expression.
Her colleagues also started laughing at her :x

Heng boss didnt hear a thing cause they were at the outside tables.

YAY surprise success!

Annoying boss went to blow the candle before I took photos.
But he still gamely posed a mock action for the camera.
Entertain me only ! hahah.

le boss who always owes me my pay.

selfie with le bf ! :D

Candice Pleats Dress in Mint from MGP Label !
Love the pleated skirt and the color.
Discovered that there were pockets when I got it . Bonus point :D

Tim Ho Wan with the corridor people ! ♥

second time at tim ho wan today!
heheh with sok and bimb; three of us form the corridor people.
lolol we have so many combinations :B

my first visit to tim ho wan was with my colleagues, as kanages' farewell dinner.
its kinda sad to have someone in your team leave,
especially when it took time to build up such great teamwork.
i'll miss how both of us gang up to bully emmanuel, hahah!

anyway that the first time we were there so we went abit crazy on the ordering.
this time i gave recommendations so that we wont waste stomach space and kachings. :D

Tim Ho Wan - 1 Michelin Star Dim Sum
Plaza Singapura #01-92A
Opened 10 am - 10 pm
(its at the new wing, you'll be able to spot it by its long queue)
..

mandatory shot of the signboard.
reminds me of 一筒 in mahjong LOLOL.

Tim Ho Wan has four top dishes aka. Four Heavenly Kings.

photo credits to THW's fb page

First one is the super famous and absolutely om nom nom Baked Bun with BBQ Pork.
really cannot miss ordering this, if not you've never been to THW.
each person is limited to an order of 3 buns, which is 1 plate.
i cant explain how freaking much i love this. and i dont care what taupok says. LOL.

the bun is slightly sweet, with an outer crust similar to Roti Boy but flakier.
and the piping hot char siew filling inside is da bombz.
personally the sweetness is alright for me,
but i have bimb and eman saying its too sweet, so to them, one is enough.

i'd say gimme your portion. :D

so awesome i can drool at the thought it.

My second favourite, Steamed Egg cake.
this looks really plain and unimpressive, but its a lie.
super soft and fragrant, plus not too sweet.
i imagine its the love child of huat kueh and cotton candy.

Vermicelli Roll stuffed with Pig's Liver
hmm this didnt impress me because i'm not a fan of innards.
prefer my chee cheong fun plain with sesame oil and dark sauce, hahah.

didnt manage to grab a photo of the Pan-Fried Turnip Cake,
cause eman ate it faster than my camera. LOL.
but again, not as impressive as i expected, it being a heavenly king and all.

okay for the rest of the dimsum!
THW doesnt have a wide range of dimsum (sad, no 流沙包)
but they do pride themselves on the quality of the ingredients used.
apparently they try to tweak with the recipe, like the dough, to adjust to Singapore's climate.
their efforts does shine through because some common dishes turned out so good!

Congee with Lean Pork, century egg and salted egg.
this is bimb's dish, hahaha. she and her everlasting love for century egg congee.
probably cause it brings her eye candy luck. LOL.

Prawn Dumpling
Chock full of prawns, this one. and may i add, it's fresh and fat prawns.
you can see it almost bursting at the seams.
like me, when i leave THW (kidding).

Chicken Feet with Black bean sauce
ahma always called this 老巫婆的手, which is kinda true if you think about it ;p
and she therefore, gave me fear towards chicken feet since young :x
ahsok's dish, and it was also my senior colleagues' choice.
which places sok in the aunty category.. :B

Pork Dumpling with Shrimp, or just siew mai.
damn style, still got wolfberry as topping. hahahah.
this was also really nice cause the prawns are fresh and they're not stingy with the filling.
but the skin tended to stick together which was quite annoying.

Glutinous Rice Dumpling
the portion is super huge, so its best for sharing among 2 -3 persons.
especially if you still want to try other stuff.

fragrant rice cause it was wrapped in lotus leaves.
not overly cloying and again, not stingy with the filling.

Garlic, Mushroom and Spinach Dumpling.
this one looked kind of weird but its quite yummy.
i thought it was gu cai at first (ew) but it wasnt.
not bad but its not wow.

Spring Roll with Egg White
Another one of my favourites.
quite an interesting twist to the normal spring roll.
not too oily, and i thought the egg white went well as an alternative to the usual radish and carrot.
there were prawns in this as well.

Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus Cake
a dessert which is served cold.
its another of my picks :D
its not really a cake. there's a soft jelly texture which makes it chewy,
and i love the sweet smell of the osmanthus.
but it is overly sweet for myself to finish, so its best for sharing.

Overall, I think THW is worth a visit once in a while to renew feelings with the bbq pork bun.
honestly it might be the only reason for the michelin star. :x
not all the dishes are up to the hype,
but perhaps its because they dont have the exact same ingredients as in HK itself.

oh and another commendable point is the customer service!
the staff were quite fast in attending to our raised hands,
and they were really polite and helpful. (Y)

prices are reasonable for the good quality.
and the menu could have more items.
worth the pampering now and then, but i wont go too often.

my awesome possum bedok lab team at the first visit. :D

and my beloved corridor people ! ♥
hahahah corridor position in tp, so nostalgic.

took loads of camwhore shots because we had to entertain ourselves, hehe.
to ease our bulging tummies we actually walked from dhoby to orchard shaw,
and all the way to bugis junction. HAHAH.

it was really fun to catch up with them again. ♥

learn to treasure the now; what i have is what i have.

bimb's #ootd,
top from the editor's market,
wedges from rubi.
and wtf her pretty floral pleated skirt is passed down from her ahma !

i swear i'm so amazed because her ahma actually chose the fabric and requested the design herself.
few decades later she passes it on to her granddaughter.
the condition of the material is so good, it doesnt look vintage.
like bimb says, #OldTrendNeverDies and #GrandmaFashionDiary , hahah !

my #ootd
denim panel leather dress from hollyhoque
metal edge envelope clutch :D

Random happy shitz

vesak day was spent at USS, and its my third time going there !
they're having a special promotion for students above 13;
an unlimited pass till 30th Nov 2013 for $88.
usually adult single entry is $74,
so as long as you go more than once its super worth it alr.

immediately upon going there we went for battlestar galactica; cyclon :D
the queue for cyclon was significantly shorter than that of the human track.
probably cause it looked scarier with its inverting loops.
my aunt always said cyclon was 'inhuman' LOLOL.

still the ultimate ride in USS.

other than cyclon, i only took another two rides, the Mummy and Transformers.
wasnt in a rush to go for everything cause got the unlimited pass alr hehehe.
in my opinion its always best to go on a weekday to avoid crazy queuing.
oh and the past two times i went were rainy saturdays, :x

me and ahpok :D

this time we managed to take a photo with Po! :D
he pretended to be tired and sat down floppily on a nearby bench, hahaha.

woody the woodpecker! and his gf whom i dont know her name :x

heheheh chubby baby fishball !
he was sweating so much, his mummy decided to let him go au naturel :B

self- manicure for the long weekend.
a happy sky themed set - featuring clouds and paper planes and rainnnnbows :D

and she was like "aiya die, i dont wanna go liao. or i go home change first?"
then she tried convincing us to swap clothes with her, LOL

Sunday

loots worth $61 from KissJane inaugural warehouse sale !

had been anticipating this sale event for quite some time now,
gotta say that overall it was only meh. below expectations.

firstly, the queue organization was lousy.
me and bimb went there half an hour earlier, and there was alr a long queue.
not surprising cause we've seen worse queues hahahaha.
but the problem arose when a security guard told us tt the queue was for lucky draw registration.
if we have alr registered online we can join the walk-in queue, which was shorter.
so we went over to the walk-in queue.

BUT THEN it turned out to be a miscomm. -.-
walk-in queue is for those who didnt register online, and registered queue would have priority.
omgggg the feeling was like, shit i have to rejoin the long queue?!
which by then was far longer than forever ._________.

negotiated with the organizer who then kindly let us cut the registered queue :x

secondly, the clothes were a mess !
in the beginning all the stuff were sorted according to the blogshop and corresponding price.
then chaos happened; some selfish person started digging and throwing clothes around.
and everybody soon started doing the same thing.
at one point of time some girls were tossing clothes above bimb's head. seriously.
so end up all the clothes were mixed up and you couldnt really target by blogshop anymore. T.T

nevertheless, both of us shopaholics still managed to get items at a steal :D

rewarded ourselves to Char Siu Tonkotsu Ramen at RamenPlay !
still the best ramen so far.
入口即化 char siu, hot soup, springy noodles, melty egg omgggggg. *drools*

Tuesday

trying out the Redken Cocktail hair treatment at Salon Vim@Bugis!

Salon Vim had a blogger's promotion in the month of May - 30% off Redken / Armino Treatment.
been hearing lots of good reviews for the Redken Cocktail Treatment, so wanted to give it a shot.
got discount leh, so why not ! #auntymode

its a four step treatment:
1. hair and scalp analysis to decide which kind of treatment combi + cleansing shampoo
2. strengthening step to reconstruct hair structure
3. shot phix to balance hair pH
4. shot phase - mask and specific treatment are mixed together in a cocktail shaker for your own personalised treatment.

i think step four is the most exciting cause of the cocktail shaker LOLOL.

for my treatment, my stylist Joyce picked color extend + extreme + real control.
and the results are amazing !
zomg so smooth until i couldnt tie my hair properly cause it kept slipping.
its really that dramatic hahahaha.

bimb looks pretty with curls ! :D
my fringe looks fine here but actually its really v toot.
have t tahan till it grows out :x

mango sticky rice from bimb's mom !
love love love that its not too sweet and its really fragrant.
