Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone In Concert!

It's no secret that I am a huge Harry Potter fan, having read all the books for at least 20 times?
Each time before a new book is released, I'd always read the series all over again, from the first book.

I've re-watched the entire volume of movies too. Heheheh.

So, I was super excited when I saw that there was gonna be a Harry Potter in Concert playing in Singapore!

The concept is a live orchestra, playing in accompaniment with the movie.
They'll replace the studio soundtrack - which already sounds magical~

When I asked Taupok if he'd go with me, he was flabbergasted..
Because he actually wanted to sneaky surprise me with the tickets LOLOL.

Sorry pok I'm too fast ;p

And I think I got influenced by Japan's culture?

I initially thought, hey, I can probably wear the merchandise I got from USJ!
Then boom WHY NOT WEAR THE ENTIRE HOGWARTS UNIFORM BWAHAHAH.

Taupok also gamely agreed to cosplay with me heheheheh best bf ever.

Can't believe I wore this out actually, because the knit vest is no joke :x

Oh yes I'm a self-professed Ravenclaw student hahahah
Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure~

Pok picked Slytherin cause he says it's his zodiac hahahahaha.
Actually cause he's nua like a snake la LOL.

Jx was really nice to lend Pok her wand. :D

Bwahaha with the robe!
Had such a hard time sourcing for a good quality one, but it was worth it!
Didn't buy the one at USJ because it's freaking 170 bucks x.X

Received so many compliments for our outfits hehehe.

I think its a fun way of expressing my love and enthusiasm for the fandom.
Going to a concert doesn't necessarily means you have to dress to the nines.
But of course, I already checked if there were any dress code specified la.

Orchestra getting ready!

The conductor was so cute!
He encouraged the audience to cheer, laugh, jeer at our fav scenes, and simply enjoy the concert freely.
Totally different from a movie, where you're usually expected to behave and not disturb others.

During intermission heheheh.

Other than activating tricks at Wizarding Worlds, the wands are pretty functional too :p

Finished the concert feeling super elated. I miss USJ la!
Can't wait to re-read the entire series again HAHAH.

One last selfie with my favorite pok. Thank you for being so steady! ♥

And this marks our first ever classical concert together hahah.
We're just not that artsy fartsy. ;p

#pokandpok - Staycation 2016!

Again at Wanderlust :D

With the opening of the Downtown line, Wanderlust hotel is now more accessible than before!
3 min walk away to Rochor, 6 min to Little India Station, and 10 min to Bugis station.

This is my second visit, and this time we picked the Pantone room.
Bed was super comfy, and shower facilities were clean.
The shower is separate with the toilet btw, and so is the sink, therefore no fighting ensued :D

Socks & Pans for lunch !
There are always new cafes to try on my list so we usually have no problem with what to eat hahahah.

Socks & Pans
7 Tanjong Pagar Plaza #01-108
Singapore 081007

Opening hours:
Monday to Thursday 11 am to 9 pm
Friday 11 am to 10 pm

It is located right next to Bingki, my favourite bingsu place!
Which makes it convenient to pop over for desserts, :B

Socks & Pans has an interesting concept that's reflected in their name - Traditional Kopi and Pizza tgt.
So don't expect any fancy schmancy lattes there, just your good ol' kopi teh c siew dai.

The food dishes are the ones with the twist though.
There are your standard pizza flavours,
and then there's He Bi Hiam, Thai Basil Pork, and Asian Pulled Pork. Like whaaat!
Cannot imagine these on pizzas hahaha.

You can see the menu here!

Show you what attracted us there in the first place..

Baked Mac & Cheese with Soft Egg - $11.10!!
This is really their star attraction.
Mac &Cheese sounds normal enough,
but S&P throws in crunchy croutons which breaks the creamy texture, hence the dish won't get jelat.
Shreds of bacon inside also lends the dish a punch of flavour.

The soft egg is also optional (top-up $1.20),
so you can skip it if you're worried that its too rich / cholesterol levels are too high ;p

Pok had their Wagyu Beef Bolognese - $9.90 , which he said was good.
I always feel bad when there's limited options for him but he always insists he is fine. #imsolucky

Caught a movie and then its on to sing k!
Absolute best la, sing until 1 am at Bugis+ then walk back to hotel.

Breakfast buffet at Cocotte is included, which comprises of a main dish,
and free flow cereal, milk, coffee, tea and assorted breads and pastries, till 11 am.
They have Waffle Crisps! Which I had 2 bowls each morning #fatdieme

The mess of melty looking sauce is my Eggs and Kale Benedict. #omnomnom

Whose breakfast is better uncle?
Is that why you have your game on face? HAHAH.

Planned a totally different 'itinerary' from the last time - yay we're finally going Adventure Cove!
Previously I kept postponing AC visits because I didn't want my freshly dyed red hair to fade HAHAH.
Even though I'd look like Ariel in the water, I'd rather keep the color for longer.
But aiya now cannot vibrant liao, so doesn't matter anymore T.T

Adventure Cove is like an upgraded version of www, with more thrilling rides!
Pok's favourite is the Duelling Racer - we went 4 times because there wasn't much of a queue.
Weekday perks hahahah

My favourite was the Riptide Rocket - Southeast Asia's first hydro-magnetic roller coaster!
Poor Pok didn't know what was in store, and he freaked out on the ride HAHAH.
There was a series of ups and drops so he was screaming all the way.
#uncoolboyfriend

Other than that, you have www favourites like Blu Water Bay, a tsunami pool,

And Adventure River, which is a prettier version of Shiok River in www.
Seriously I loveeeee the grottos, which are lit in brilliant blue (not cresyl) light,
which makes me feel like a legit mermaid,
and the sections where it overlapped with the marine life aquariums.
We were lucky enough to spot some dolphins too!

The Bay Restaurant within the park allows you to enjoy your meals overlooking the park scenery..

But of course the main point is..
It is opposite another locker and showers area which is less crowded HAHAH.

SO MY DEAR FRIENDS READING THIS.
If you ever go AC, dont dump your stuff into the first locker and shower area near the entrance.
Walk all the way in, so it's less crowded, and you can gao dim everything then head out comfortably.

Are we almost the same tone yet?

Night is still young, and so are we!
Last night out cannot go back so early LOL.
Went for i Light @ Marina Bay despite running around the whole day hahahah.
Started walking from Raffles Place mrt exit.

One of my favourite installations - it feels like contemp dance x light.

This was one of my favourites too !
Its an interactive installation - you use your phone to 'send' elements onto the display,
so it's always changing, depending on what different users combine at that point in time.

Tranquil moments like this with Pok makes me feel so blessed (:

Food Review: Standing Sushi Bar

First date of the year - me and Pok were craving for Japanese food, so yay time to visit Standing Sushi Bar!
Ever since reading about their special promotions, I've been wanting to go.
Ehhhh 5 slices of salmon sashimi for only $3, why not!
Eat until siao also can omg slurps.

Itatakimasu~!

We had some self control and only ordered 5 sets of salmon sashimi. Only 5 ;p
I love that their salmon slices are not too thick or too thin, just right that it melts in your mouth.
Recently went to a buffet place where one serving of my salmon was cut wrongly - felt so stiff and frozen :x

All Salmon All the Time - $16.90
One of their specialty maki rolls.
It has avocado, raw salmon and cucumber within, topped with torched aburi salmon and ebiko.
Love the texture of the crunchy, smooth, and torched flavour combined together. :D

Reminds me of The Sushi Bar's aburi roll, om nom nom.
Except that this one has slightly thicker slices, making it hard for even my big mouth to chew.

Yakiniku Don - $20
Thinly sliced beef yakiniku, onions and toasted sesame on a bed of mixed grain rice, topped with an onsen egg.
Obviously I didn't try this one but pok says it was alright.

Alright means gg he wont order this anymore liao HAHAH.
Guess it didn't impress him enough

Teriyaki Chicken Don - $16
*Extra Onsen Egg - Add $1.50
Served together with a side of thinly sliced cabbage salad with sesame sauce - the kind Bimb loves to spam hahahaha.

Chicken was niceeee, well marinated too.
But the mixed grain rice however, was sticky and not very hot.. so meh.

After finishing all the above I decided I needed another serving of salmon sashimi so I did.
Wahahahah like a free flow only!

Went for a stroll around the Marina Bay Promontory - its quite shiok at night, when the cool wind blows.
And you just finished an awesome meal, sit down by the riverfront,
then suddenly you fall into the Singapore River cause you fell asleep. HAHAH

Okay no la we didn't fall in, just sat there and talked.
Sometimes its still quite surreal and awesome that my first bf is someone who knows me so well, and even after so long its like we're still in our honeymoon period.

Heng I never quit Maplestory LOLOL.

Lyrics Therapy I

I love my phone and laptop shuffle nowadays, because they seem to be playing songs which resonate.
Haven't done this in a long while so I shall !

你的想法我都 OK 還不夠 , 更愛陪你去做
我的心思你都 OK 不用說, 甚至對號入座
Ooo~ 最完美的互動

I used to be so in control
No one could ever touch me
I'd tell myself I'd never fall
And nobody would catch me

You shot your love through my defenses
And left me wide open
Feels like my feet can't touch the ground (the ground)
That's what you've done to me

You can keep talking, but baby I'm walking away~
Listen. I got the emails, I got the texts, the answer's still the same.
That's the way it is.

If anyone can make me a better person you could
All I gotta say is I must've done something good
I came along one day and you rearranged my life
All I gotta say is I must've done something right

OMG raining !! Goodnight :D

Pok's 26th Birthday!

Even though it is his birthday, Pok insisted on going to a place off my to-eat list.
Yes its totally legit for gluttons to have a to-eat list, instead of to-do.

Finally got to visit SPRMRKT !
Other than being a cafe, it has a small retail corner, and occasionally holds art exhibitions.
Fun fact: you may buy raw ingredients from them if you wish.

No wonder the name, hahaha.

SPRMRKT

2 McCallum Street
Singapore 069043

Opening hours:
Mon - Fri: 8 am to 9 pm
Sat - Sun: 9 am to 5 pm

Full menu available at 11 am, last orders at 9 pm and 4.30 pm
Closed from 3 pm to 4 pm on Thurs for staff lunch

Our birthday brunch!
Yes I'm boring, but I love eggs with flowy yolk.

We ordered Eggs Florentine - $14 and Rosti - $18,
plus a side of Truffle Fries with Parmesan and Kelp - $12

This picture lighting very nice hor?!
I bullied pok into standing up and taking the shot while I murdered my egg HAHAH.

Our mains were awesome, except that I feel Marche's Rosti still tops my list hahahaha.
This one was slightly too flat and crispy.

The truffle fries though, were perfectly seasoned, and the kelp added an extra addictive punch.
Must order if you visit SPRMRKT!

Again I got a surprise cake for pok. Hehehe!
Caramel or butterscotch cake, I cant rmb exactly but it was moist and fluffy. Yums.

Onwards to his next surprise!
Because we had time to spare we ended up walking from Tanjong Pagar to City Hall hahahah.

Birthday boy wanted his ootd but can't decide on the pose HAHAHAH.

He had absolutely no idea what's gonna happen. Hiak hiak.
Told him we're catching a concert at the Capitol Theatre when we got there.

He was like.. huh? concert? orh, okay!
Act happy nia, actually he v puzzled cause wtf concert sia HAHAH DON'T THINK I DON'T KNOW.

Of course when he saw this ginormous sign, his excitement level was totally different. :B

YAAAAAYYY STAR WARS!
Just our luck that they had special screening at the Capitol Theatre, making the experience even better.
Pok was so happy, his face turned tomato red. hahahah.
Simple celebration, just the type we love. :D
