JGR 4

Life is never fair, but some people still haven't seemed to realise it.
Everyone is carrying their own burdens and troubles.
Some more than others, some less.
You are never the only one burdened with life.

Some adults are still not mature enough to let go of things which are out of our own hands.
If you're forever thinking the world owes you a living,
no matter where you're located, you will never be content.

If you think you're the only one being overworked,
you're not really thinking for the colleagues who are working with you.
If I wanted to be calculative too, I could have refused all the extra work.
I dont have to come early and stay late everyday, because I'm not even of the same rank.

To actually project your unhappiness all over Facebook, for the rest of the colleagues to see.
I get so annoyed, because it seems like its a fight for pity.
It is already established that Bedok and Tampines are the busiest locations,
So shall we not reiterate the fact again and again?
Bragging about the number of patients everyday will not change the fact.

Review: NIVEA Whitening Happy Shave

Back with another review for NIVEA!

This time, its NIVEA's Whitening Happy Shave :D

Usually I use Dove anti-perspirant spray,
because they have lighter scents, so that my nose doesnt get irritated.
So I'm glad to report that first, the Happy Shave is in a clean and pleasant scent !
It was described as floral, fruity, with the scent of green apple, peach, lily of the valley and jasmine
To me, it smells like baby powder, hehe.

Why choose this product?

NIVEA's Whitening Happy Shave is the first whitening anti-perspirant,
which means it actually works double-time: keeps fresh and whitens the skin.

Erms, I didn't actually know it till I did my research,
but hair removal due to plucking or shaving the armpits are one of the causes of darkening.
Other reasons may be due to hyperpigmentation and exposure to UV light.
This is due to the melanin pigmentation in the skin.
The skin at the underpit is also thinner than the other areas, hence its more sensitive.
Thankfully I dont have this problem. YET.

So this is where the Happy Shave comes in!

It contains Provitamin B5 and Vitamin C,
which helps to whiten dull skin, and at the same time,
repair the damaged skin cells and reduce skin irritation.

Provitamin B5 is converted into Vitamin B5 after it enters the skin.
It promotes wound healing, and is deeply moisturizes.

Vitamin C protects against free radical damage, inhibits melanin formation,
and helps to promote collagen formation to keep skin firm and smooth.

Happy Shave promises freshness for 48 hours, which is to be honest, too long :x
Can't expect me not to bathe to test it, lol.
I tried the spray for 2 days though.

One of the days was a whole day at work.
I work in a laboratory, so its in an air-conditioned environment.
No sweat issues there, even though I had to pack some stocks.

Another day is a half day at work, and subsequently the rest of the day out.
Walked around *scape, but also no sweaty issues even though the place was crowded.

So yes, it is indeed able to keep you effectively fresh and clean for a full day!
Of course, do keep in mind the different body chemistries which would cause the effect to vary.
The scent didn't last that long though, but it was expected due to its lightness.

The Happy Shave also promises to produce whitening results in 2 weeks,
and with less irritation and redness when you uh, defuzz the armpits.
Another test which I was unable to carry out due to time contraints.
I will update when I see results!

Seoul Travelogue : Day One

Finally went on my long awaited trip to Seoul !
I say long awaited cause we booked the plane tickets last Dec, LOL.
Seoul wasnt our initial choice but we decided on that due to the typhoon season..
Which in the end was ironic. :x

Anyway, thanks Dad for the lift to the airport!
As well as picking up le bff bimb.
Who nearly forgot I was going to the airport *ahem*.

Pre-flight selfie :D

My Meh Meh luggage tag !

Group selfie !
Thanks jiefu for sending us off. :D

#newsstandgirls #shoppingseouls

Levon's hand, as always, is unstoppable.

My travel buddies !
Its our first overseas trip together :D

Pre-flight ootd !

Our flight was booked with Scoot,
hence there was a transit at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport.
Three of us didnt exchange Taiwan money, but Sok had leftover coins from her previous trip.
LOL we practically survived on the lifesaving coins by sharing a bottle of green tea.
Hahahah drama situation much.

Arrived at Incheon Internationl Airport!
As with Taoyuan, the airport was fully wired with free WiFi, yay!
The first thing I did when we deplaned was to report to my anxious family on whatsapp.

And then take a selfie to send to my equally worried bf. hahaha.

We had to take a tram from the arrival area to immigration, then to the arrival hall.
Its the same when going to departure, so please allocate enough time.

Underwent a mad rush to complete a list of things at the airport!

First up we had to collect the portable WiFi router aka the famous Olleh Egg
Our flight arrived at local time 9.35 pm,
so we had to collect from a 24 hour counter at the Arrivals floor (1F), Gate 10.

Other counters available are open from 6 am to 10 pm,
you may see the list of locations here
But a word of caution: the counters are sometimes closed before the actual timings :x

Regarding the price, you can refer to the link here.
We had a discount voucher so our rental was 6500 won per day.
But please take note: the prices do not include the 15% service charge,
which is included in the per day rate, not the overall cost.

Another point to note is the mode of payment.
You may choose to leave a deposit of 200,000 won, and they will deduct the total amount.
OR leave your credit card details.
And credit card is really credit card, not debit card hor. Dont be like me LOL.

Behold, the almighty egg !
Connects up to 5 slaves to technology at one point of time.

Second mission: to catch the Airport Express train !
The train ticket is priced at 8000 won ,
and it's express because it goes all the way to Seoul station without stopping. (45 min)
Its quite a long way to the AREX station, and supposedly the last train is 23:43 (website)
HOWEVER, when we got there at around 22:30, the ticketing booth was already closed :x
Moral of the story: Websites are never 100% accurate, lol.
Later on I'd have many more rants regarding this.

Lucky for us though, the KTX subway was still operating,
So we paid around 4000 won for the all stop train.
Which is actually cheaper!
The journey took 1 hour 15 min, but no complaints since it cost us half the price.
We were even able to take the connecting train to our hotel,
instead of taking a cab as we had planned.
AGAIN, no thanks to the unreliable websites, which gave inaccurate info about last train timings.
All aboard the KTX Train !

I highly recommend this app, which made my life really easy!
Search Subway Korea in your app store (both Android and Apple) and download.
This app allows you to select the start point and end point,
and also provides information about the cost and last trains.
Use it to check before your journey!
It saved us once because we overlooked the last train timing and nearly failed to make it.

With this icon, you won't go wrong.

Oh and get the T-money pass instead of the M-pass for tourists,
unless you're planning to make more than 10 trips per day or going really far.
The Subway works by deducting 1050 won per tap in, then based on additional distance.
We didnt travel very far, so our average per day was maybe 4 trips?
Still considered cheap. (Y)

Old school metal seats.

Our HQ, Jongno-3-ga.
I really love this station cause it's an interchange, so we were able to connect to many lines easily.
Kudos to Levon and Bimb for finding such an awesome location for our hotel :D

Hotel Rian.
My two awesome bffs found this through Agoda,
Its located in a small alley, not facing the main road, but still generally safe.
Best is the presence of two convenience stores nearby :D

Paid a visit to Dongdaemun for some late night shopping.
Walked there cause it was truly too late for the subway and we wanted to save on cab fare.
The funniest shit was that when we wanted to cab back, none of the cabs wanted to pick us up!
Apparently it was too nearby for them.
Like wut uncle, its 3 subway stops away leh!
Urps and bimb got very traumatised cause this is the first time she got rejected by 3 cabs.

Love the fusion of modern and traditional.

Dongdaemun is a place for wholesale shopping, and by that I mean really wholesale.
Unlike Bangkok's concept, the buyers really bought truckloads of clothes.
Most of them were even winter wear; one season in advance
So we didnt get a lot of shopping done.

We did enjoy the street food though!

Cabbage Pancake.
Flour was tasteless but the cabbage was sweet.

Tteokbokki
Chewy chewy chewy rice cake! smothered in sweet spicy sauce.
Generally all stalls had this and it was super chewy,
but I cant finish one bowl by myself cause it was quite filling.

Wandered further down to Migliore Shopping Mall, cause there was a nail supply store there :BBB
AND I HAD VOUCHERS SO DOUBLE THE :BBBB

Spent 30,000 won there but I was so freaking happy.
Bought a pump dispenser, two ultra thin brushes, a good quality nail file and tape.
AND found a pretty duochrome polish which was only $2.

ahem #nailaholic #sorrynotsorry

This awesome fried food stall was outside the mall too.

French fry covered hotdog, smothered in mustard and tomato sauce.
YUMS.
Though you may get sick of the starchy dough in between, but I was hungry. *shrugs*

Shall continue Day Two tmr !

Random Swatches !

I've decided to post a bunch of my nail swatches together..
simply cause I'm too lazy to post one by one. hahah.

First is OPI: Peace & Love & OPI

Steel gray duochrome, which flashes plum purple and forest green.
Three coats for opacity, I would recommend layering it over black to for easy application.
Smooth and not streaky.

Emily de Molly: Hole in the Sky
A periwinkle creme, with tiny lavender and white dots, and holographic hex and circle glitters.
Three coats for opacity, but two coats gives it a more delicate and subtle look.

Emily de Molly: The Fifth Element
A turquoise crelly base with teal, red and silver holographic hexes.
Opacity in two coats

Mattified.

China Glaze: Strap On your Moonboots
Holographic dark blue.
Opaque in two smooth coats.

Pretty & Polished: The Fifth Beetle
A duochrome, thermal topcoat.
Basically 3 in 1, so worth the price.
Clear when warm and dark when cold.
I layered it over a light cream base, so I dont know the effects of it over other colors.

Pretty & Polished: Cosmos and Effect
A gorgeous holographic multichrome polish.
I layered it over black, as applying on its own made it sheer and didnt show the full effect.
It felt like a chunky glitter topcoat, so I'd highly recommend it to be worn over a base.

Oh yeah, there was so much happening in the sunlight!
First the pretty dark purple-blue-forest green multichrome effect,
then the holographic glitter effect.

I swear, Pretty & Polished makes their polishes work overtime.
#mosthardworkingpolishes LOL.

Glam Polish: That Old Black Magic.
Black base with rainbow holographic glitters .
Two coat magic. :D

Food Review: Drips

Drips
82 Tiong Poh Road
#01-05, Singapore 160082

Opening hours:
Sunday - Thursday, 11 am to 9.30 pm
Friday - Saturday 11 am to 11 pm

Drips specializes in their cakes and pastries,
where it is made in house to ensure freshness, and the menu may vary day to day.

Carnations on every table; we visited on Mother's Day

Flat White and Latte

Skylight.

I love that the high ceilings added to the fresh morning ambience.

We were seated at the back, but be forewarned.
Its a low table with comfy sofa seats.
Perfect for chilling but not so when eating. :x

Iced Green Tea Latte
I always order this if available on any menu :D
Real Matcha powder was used, and it was a little too milky due to the proportion of milk.
It wasnt too sweet.

Breakfast Platter - $15.80
Omelette, sliced ham, sausage, with grilled tomato, baked beans and two slices of bread.

Smoked salmon Sandwich with salad - $15.80
I actually love the bread served here, which was chock filled with sunflower seeds.
The special mayo complemented the ingredients inside too.
I feel that its a little pricey for the serving size though,
but that's commonly the issue with cafes.

Mixed Fruit Tart
The tart base was good, buttery and not too hard.

In general, I felt Drips is a good place to hang out and chill.
The food was nothing awesome, so just order the drinks and pastries :B

Nail Art: Inspired by TTR's Edelweiss Romper

I don't usually wear florals, but I liked this combination so much it inspired my manicure.

I started with a mint creme: Essie's Fashion Playground.
Opaque in two coats.
Formula was slightly runny compared to China Glaze;
its the same with all the essie's I've encountered.

Used China Glaze's Creative Fantasy, Lemon Fizz and Street Chic to draw the florals.

Taaa daaa !

The mint is not exactly close but I thought I did a good job with the florals :B

The dress which inspired it. :D
