okay its just genting, but at least i get to fly somewhere. hahahaha.
i havent been overseas since 2 years ago. ):

managed to get to the airport earlier, cause it wasnt very busy at work.
must thank my colleagues for letting me zao too! :')
really really count myself very lucky to have such awesome colleagues.
proud to say that we really work as a team.
we look out for each other, and we're not calculative abt things. :D

touched cause he specially took leave, when he could have saved his weekly off day for his birthday.
thank goodness he was given half day off when the day came.
and kinda sad cause it'd be the first time in 5 years we cant celebrate our birthdays tgt on the actual day :x

like wtf, they were obviously targeting foreigners/chinese/people with fat pockets la.
there were no obvious zones for smoking/non-smoking at all.
they took freaking long to write the summons ticket, while squatting on the pavements.
they act drama and sealed the cigarette inside a ziplock bag.
and the most joke part?
they said that if we paid now, there would be a DISCOUNT. WTFFF HAHAH..
and on the signboards, the fine was stated 10k,
but the officer actually asked my uncle HOW MUCH HE WANTS TO PAY.
#failmax.

entered the casino after midnight just to take a look,
and omg they didnt question us at all. not even jh hahaha, walk in like a boss nia.
but seriously, the whole experience was meh.
its just like an arcade, filled with too much secondhand smoke.
needless to say we didnt stay around long.

instead we ran out to the lobby entrance t freeze ourselves with cold air. hahah.
like shiok la, thats one of the best parts of going genting.
the super cold and fresh mountain breeze at night is awesome max. :D

visited snow world in the afternoon with first aunt, jj and jx.
the slope is not as fun as snow city's, cause it was a single slope instead of freestyle,

dafuq they all turned around and sang birthday song t me instead LOL.
and the photog kept asking us to pose and such, plus rain me with snow.

BABY FISHBALL OHMYGOD SO CUTE.

took quite a few thrill rides, like the corkscrew and the much anticipated space shot.
you know, the ultra tall tower which goes wayyyyy up and zooms down? :DD

but damn, i didnt completely enjoy the ride cause of some safety fault.
dont know to call it heng or suay. ><
the seat which i was in had a slightly loose locking mechanism.
instead of staying close t my body it could be pushed slightly further compared to other seats'
i was clutching to both the bottom of the seat and across the locking brace,
trying to hug it closer if possible.
but wtf it still fly outward when we plunged down from top.
the jerking sensation is smth i will never forget. :x

what pissed me off to was the staff's nonchalant reply when i told him it was loose.
he said that he knows its loose. and just shrugged.
dude wtf if i was skinnier and didnt hold the side of the seat i might have flown out! >:/

didnt finish the rest of the outdoor rides cause smth cropped up at the airport,
my uncle kena detained cause their stupid immigration officers chopped the wrong date of entry.
it became 16th nov instead of 16th dec. and they accused him of overstaying.
so aunt had to go back to the hotel to settle it.
super lucky cause she still kept the bus itinerary, and faxed it to the office as proof.

seriously idiotic.
cannot check against singapore's date of exit meh !
damn chicken one la, keep throwing shit at us, just cause we're not of their race.
and it was seriously a flashback moment cause i thought of what happened to ahsai the last time.

twenty-first celebration - the third

combi celebration for both me and taupok !
usually its my job to plan december celebrations,
but i bullied him into planning this year's cause its my 21st. heheh.

he surprised me at my doorstep with a cake!
i was actually still sleeping/nua-ing when he knocked on the door,
and my sleepy eyes didnt see it hidden behind his back :x

two candles each . :D

wore my fav white toga top x black fishtail skirt.

went for sakura international buffet dinner, which we've been wanting to try for some time.

quite worth the money, cause the variety was awesome max.

its mostly japanese, but there was also a good mix of stuff like chinese/malay food too.

eat until stuffed :x

 sushi! plus smoked norwegian salmon.

 cold tofu and soba ! my absolute fav.

fresh seafood. scallops, mussels, and pok's fav salmon. (:

classic hawaiian pizza, plus summer vege pizza

om nom nom grilled shiitake skewers.

tempura prawn, seafood roll and fried durian :D

nuggets, takoyaki (which were quite nua), and salmon smth. :x

cereal prawn without prawn, otah, siew mai and chawanmushi

prawn paste chicken, and baked cream seafood.

caught the hobbit, which quite intrsting.
my poor butt ached like shit cause it was freaking 2 hr 50 mins !
and cause we didnt know the length, and picked the 9pm slot..
we ended up freaking running for the last train. :x

nothing very different,
but its awesome cause its quality time spent with pok before leaving for genting  ♥

twenty first celebration - the second

the celebration with my ahs girls - jazz, minyu and ruiting. :D
a really simple meet-up, the way i like it. (:

went to ulu chai chee community center for KTV, bwahaha.
omg the price is really cheap, 3 hrs $8 for students, $10 otherwise.
and the room was huge for 4 people. not like teoheng LOL.
very super worth it !

satisfaction of the night - managed to sing 那些你很冒险的梦 :D

went for dinner at pastamania. seafood tom yum pasta! heheh.
spent an awesome amount of time gossiping and reminiscing.
i didnt really love my secondary school days,
but there are some moments which are so classic you just cant forget. ;p

oh and my gossip sources fail max when it comes to my sec school people.
because i seriously isolate myself from them,
till my 'new' news was old news since 4 years ago LOLOL.

very lucky to still have kept in contact with these awesome people.
kind of didnt have the chance to meet much for the past 2/3 years cause all were busy with school.

twenty first celebration - the first

first celebration for my twenty first birthday for the past two days.

second uncle insisted on having a big celebration so i agreed after awhile.

having some mixed feelings about my decision right now cause i dont know if it was right.

caused a certain amount of unhappiness but i guess its now too late to regret..

so i tell myself i should just focus on the happy and positive side of things; life is too short and fragile.
kinda easy to say, hard to do. but i'm trying.

took half day leave on friday for a hair/nails pampering session, sponsored by my mom's family.
thank you jh for booking the appointments, and bimb for accompanying me for 4 hrs. :D

was quite happily eating my tako and yakisoba from gindaco.
got a phone call from a very frantic jh.
she booked the caterer for the wrong day, so the freaking driver was at the chalet alr.
no one was there at the chalet as well.

the company refused to take the food back and deliver tmr.
they only gave us two options:
either to set up and pay the driver, or to discard the food.
we had to make the decision almost immediately cause the driver said he was rushing off somewhere.

which is total bullshit.
no one around, how to pay?
you tell me must discard if i dont pay on the spot, then i still have to pay for the discarded food?
thats not giving me any choice at all isnt it.

i'm super sure this is not the first time such thing has been encountered.
shouldnt they have more feasible options ?
even if it was our mistake, the caterer was also being unreasonable.

anyway, it was such an unlucky mistake.
i felt so bad when jh apologised for screwing up.. cause its not easy to handle everything herself.
at that point i really wished i never ever agreed to holding this event. :/

so i was feeling pretty lousy when i reached the chalet.
really no mood, and not at all looking forward to the next day.

then i kena surprised by bimb and boss at the door. LOL.
with 21 bowls of laoban tauhuey. thank you boss! :D

around 5 mins later, wayne and cliff walked in. like what the shit. surprised max.

but nothing prepared me for the shock of the day. hahahah.
was watching tv and kinda emo-ing. :x. then i felt someone poke me.
i knew pok was standing behind me so i thought it was him ma.
brushed the finger aside but kena poke second time.
so i turned around, saw ahsok and i screamed damn loud LOLOL.

paiseh moment of the day, walao thank goodness no video.

saturday morning - back to work. thank you cliff for the free ride. :)
thank goodness patient volume was low, cause i need energy for laterrr.

back home, dad and mom were trying to prepare all the food for dinner.
felt a mix of feelings again.
very touched that they were doing all this for me.
and yet feeling very bad cause mom didnt get to rest well after work,
and dad skipped work altogether.
btw he's a taxi driver, not bus driver. so no crime committed :B

when i put on the bib i was like, mamam. LOL. #glutton

third aunt did my makeup and hair for me. :D
its awesome cause its natural looking; she knows i dont like over the top. ♥
and she did those amazing waterfall braids for me! learn especially for me some more

didnt really manage to talk to everyone, though later i think i became the entertainment cause kena sabo.

1. nothing is set in stone, only change is permanent.

most days we follow a routine, its almost the same.

but if we think about the details, its not.

everyday is different, a new chain of events.

2. learn to let go when you should.

some things are just beyond our scope of control.

we're not alone; each of our actions can directly or indirectly affect people around us.

no matter how small it may be.

so instead of holding on to worries which have no solution, just clear your mind.

no point regretting, so long as you learn.

no point worrying when you cannot do anything except wait.

3. i'm scared of getting pierced to death by sharp objects

sometimes i look at stuff which are sticking out.

like, er, the handle on my bathroom shower.

and i'm like, damn, what if i one day slip and fall and this thing goes through my stomach.

walao i'm freaking morbid. :x

4. location announcements in chinese on the mrt.

not needed, seriously.

to my personal experience, all the aunties uncles know very clearly locations in english.

they might not know how to pronounce it, but they know.

except maybe the new stations on the circle lines/LRT.

however, there are alr 4 different languages written on the signboards.

i'm sure they understand what they can see.

many people say this move is just to benefit the cheena piangs.

well, the best way is not to make it convenient for them.

instead they should learn, learn how to integrate and gain acceptance.

what pisses me off most actually, is the reaction from the minority groups.

many of them are laughing at the location names.

which, yes, some are really funny. i sometimes laugh too.

its irritating however, when they think those names have been translated for fun.

majority of these names have actually existed for very very long.

and some of them actually have a meaning to them, a kind of story for the place.

its just because they dont know how to read it, thats why they have nvr realised.

it didnt have any significance, other than being brushes or strokes to them.

its like how we dont understand written arabic or tamil.

each race is different and unique, and we should exercise mutual respect.

whats meaningless to you doesnt mean its of no value to others.

5. one life, live it.

life is too short to have too many regrets.
treasure every moment you've got.
cause you dont know which is going to be the last.

which is why i just eat and heck care the calories. :D

i think thats the least of worries.

its their attitudes and what they are doing which scares me. alot.

she's telling me about her friends who smoke in the school toilet.
their cigarettes are obtained from friends who steal them from their dad.
classmates who put on makeup, have piercings.
friends who cut their wrists.

and her web of relationships are so complicated.
what fling what ex-bf/gf, god-brother and what not.

did i mention jx is just in PRIMARY SCHOOL?

wtf right. this kind of things, i only heard of during sec school/poly.

omg thank my lucky stars i'm a 199x kid.
if i were her generation, i'd probably die in primary school sia.
i barely survived rss at that time with all that rich kids shit.
cant imagine with all this kind of drama.

i often ask myself, what if?
what went right and where did i go wrong.
what can i do next to make things better.

sadly, there is no turning back.

decided to go universal studios singapore to celebrate cj and jh's birthday!
both of them havent been there before, and have been wanting to go for ages.

and i couldnt wait to take the transformers ride!

which i did. and omg it was freaking awesome.
its a roller coaster + 3D ride, and the first one ahpok didnt nearly die of, LOL.
probably because the cinematics was awesome enough to distract him. :D

completed my battlestar galactica challenge too heheh.
the first time i went i took the human route.
this time its the cyclon route.
can you say 360 degree turns and few times upside down? :B

and yup, i did it alone. again.
everyone chickened out after the human route they took before i came.
i was left to happily run towards the nonexistent queue, due to the rain.
i dont mind repeating my stunt though. ^_^

best part of the whole thing, we managed to convince mummy to go with us!
and very surprisingly she was very steady about going for the rides.
transformers, the mummy, she was like, bring it on. (Y)
now i know where i inherited my guts from.

the smell of freedom

In September i was notified that UWA had reviewed its course structure,

and i had to attend an advisory session for pathway adjustment.

the dates for the sessions actually clashed with the days i was at sentosa with ahpok.

i could choose to email askUWA if i couldnt make it,

but being the awesome bf tt he is, he said it was okay to go down to psb just for it.

better to clarify and confirm everything personally ma.

v satisfied with the outcome cause i had a total of 2 exemptions and 3 removed units.

which meant 5 x $1.7k = $8.5k savings!

and it also meant i could graduate earlier. hehehe. :D

but the sucky thing was, with the adjustment i had to cancel my travelling plans to taiwan.

cause instead of a break in March it was pushed to Sept.

and both my steady travel buddies - bimb and cliff - had alr started school. :/

suck thumb nia lorhs, have to delay again.

and due to overseas plans in Dec, i would be missing 2 practicals for my G6 term.

to fulfill course requirements and to fill their pockets, i had to pay $150 for make-up prac.

LIKE SERIOUSLY. EVEN MC ALSO MUST PAY WTF.

AND THEN.

i received a notice from UWA for re-enrolment for academic year 2013.

and in that email they mentioned one of my rearranged modules had changed its availability.

instead of being offered in G3/4, its gonna be in G1/2 2013.

naturally i panicked.

so what's gonna happen to my original G1/2 units?

cause what the hell, please dont tell me i need to extend my course duration.

push and push till i will graduate later than the original. -.-

at this point i was feeling fucking pissed with all the admin screw-ups that UWA was giving.

so i sent this angry email to askUWA.

and guess what?

" There have been changes to your course pathway since the advisory session, 

please take note as follows.."

WTF THANKS LOR UWA/PSB.

update also dont tell me, make me panic like shit !

okay la also my own fault minimally cause i thought the deadline for re-enrolment was 18th nov.

when its actually 18th dec, bwhahaha ! 

i still tell them in my email its URGENT and please reply ASAP. :x

but hey, so long as it gets done right. :B

so final story is.

i'm on vacation from now till 25th Jan 2013

wahahah cause my G3/4 unit kena push up to G1/2, 

then G1/2 kena push down to G1/2 2014, but i alr have exemption for that.

G6 2012 module can take in G4 2013, so i can escape from missing prac. 

another positive side is that next year i'm gonna have more breaks cause of unit blanks.

its all alternate so i also wont slack off and lose the pace to study.

AND TAIWAN TRIP MIGHT BE POSSIBLE. :DD

so yes, imma free bird hehehehehehe.

the moment i dropped the change of enrolment form, omg i felt so happy !

imagine all my evenings are now free.

except for clinic work which i can still arrange in advance.

so far i've found the time to:

visit baby wayne and ahma.

sleep before 12pm without feeling guilty.

watch walking dead season 2.

play dance central 2.

all on weekdays. and its only tuesday! *grins*

moral of this absurdly long post?

all things happen for a reason. and will work out in the end. :D
